I think the market is self correcting and if congress leaves it go long enough it will. G.E. issued stocks and raised 2.5 billion.
Let the bankers and wall street and the foreigners figure it out themselves.

It makes me furious. CEO's etc. get million $ "golden parachute" while stockholders and the rest of us get to pay the bill.

My two Senators voted against it. The oil companies have been taken it to the public for several years now and the government has not helped us but the minute one of these jerks need help they (congress)can't do it fast enough.

No and most likely will not be any.

The Executive Bankers were just doing what the Government told them to do. Give a loan to anyone that walks in and we will back it up.

The guys that ought to be put in jail is anyone that voted yes for this bailout.
I thought elected officials were suppose to represent the people and vote as we would.
Not do what they want to do.

The minority Demos for the last 30 years are more to blame than the majority Repugs? Did Barney frank just have them bent over the table for thirty years? That doesn't even make sense.
"but the ocrats in D.C. are a bunch of liars, thieves, and freaks"
Almost agree with this statement, change it to, The Repugs and Demos, anywhere, are a bunch of liars, thieves, and freaks, even the ones in your closet.

This whole thing has got my blood boiling! Public opinion running 1000-1 against the bailout and it passes by a wide margin. We have no more say about what happens in congress than what happens on Mars.

They are no longer representatives voting in our interest, like they should be. They are private agenda seeking, benefit package, say anything to get elected, shysters. Take away all the benifits alot of them will not run for releection, elected officails should be there because they want to make this a better country and push for what the people the represent want. There is no integrity anymore in those that are ruining country, not running, ruining.

I see a lot of complaining about the bailout, but who has some better ideas? I'm not ok with my bank going bankrupt, or increasing borrowing rates to 50% to recover their loss.

I'm not complaining about the bailout, We have to do it.
I just can't see the severance packages those CEOs are getting. Anything better than a size 9 Wolverine print on the seat of their pants is too much.

We have to do it? The government HAS to intervene? Is it just me or is there something wrong with that? This relates to tractors. I wonder if International Harvester, or WFE, or Allis-Chalmers got a baliout? I'm doubting it. If they did it didn't go so well.
