I've been voting against candidates instead of for them for over 20 years now. This is the first time I've actually WANTED to vote FOR somebody in all that time. I wondered when the next Reagan would come along. She's it!

Ohio said: (quoted from post at 11:31:32 09/05/08) No politician will improve your situation. Were you born yesterday? Improve your own situation. Aspire to earn more, and invest in realestate. I'm voting for the candidates who are "promising" (eyes rolling) to enlarge the gov't the least.

Ohio, well said. I agree 100%. People complain about the special interests (corporations, etc). My feeling is that anyone who looks to the govt to improve their situation is a "special interest". I believe govt's job is to provide things that we as individuals CANNOT provide. I.e. defend the borders, regulate commerce between states, etc. I don't think the federal govt should be directly involved in our everyday lives with all the social programs and promises like "a chicken in every pot". Thank you very much, I'll get my OWN chicken. LOL. That being said, like Ohio, I vote for candidates who I think will do the least harm.

Looks like McBush wants to be President real bad.So bad he gets a woman to run with him. These warmongers are out to ruin our country. They will do anything to win.If people are dumb enough to vote for them and get on the internet and act like high school kids over a cheerleader, well thats about what you are.You better think before you vote for that crazy McCain,no matter who is running with him. Then if you still want to vote for him I suggest you join the service and go to war, because thats all its going to be with him president and you will likely be crying for impeachment yourself after 2 months.

What, specifically do you think they"ll do to make things better for the common man who makes less than $100k per year and who only owns one house?

Can't stand the man, but the former GE CEO, Jack Welch, summed it up pretty good. Don't care for him because he would sacrifice any working man to make a company more profit. The short version is you don't want either party to control both houses and the presidency. Bad policy will result and he had examples to back up that statement. We need two party control to keep the other from running amok.

Point well taken. I understand what everyone else is saying, but let me ask you this, I dont know how far along this girl is, but lets say for instance, this kid is to be born in March, both are in office by this time. Something happens to McCain and he becomes the President. Next day this kid decides to pop out, God forbid, but say something happens and this woman should be at the White House, would it bother you that she should be at the WHite House making tough decisions, or at the hosptial waitng on her grandchild to be born?

AIRBORNE!!! That's like today's Hoorah!- in support of what you said, very well said! I would be more explicit-they chose not to kill the baby. Mrs and I have six kids- one was 'planned'...I think it was the fourth one, and there was some champagne involved! Before we got married, we talked about having five. Number six was a big surprise for both of us- but like the others- SHE was not pregnant- WE were. Last daughter graduated from Stanford this year. Puts new meaning into the expression- a mind is a terrible thing to waste...but it wouldn't matter what the potential of a child is- every life has value.

The truth is everybody harps about spending but when they tried to cut it before people said oh don't cut that that'll effect me. If they cut farm program spending farmers raise he!! and the same goes for most other groups. The people that would vote to cut spending would probably be voted out of office.
