What has happened to the news media? They have gone from "and thats the way it is" to "and thats the way we think it should be".

We always try to catch the news (networks, one or the other, except we find Fox a little more--dedicated??--to one viewpoint). Only half humorously, we call it "the official communique"...
We try to balance that with the local Blatt (not really all that bad a paper, but, like every outlet, with its own viewpoints), but you also have to listen to/read the alternative outlets. They can be pretty far out at times, more entertainment (accidentally) than news, but, still, invaluable for things the "Establishment" media can"t or won"t cover.
Years ago there was a cartoon of a middle-aged couple at the breakfast table, hubby with the morning paper, saying "Now I understand why my father used to tear the paper to shreds every morning"...

Um, news media telling it the way they think it should be? Just watch NBC, CBS, or ABC. You'll see it every newscast, or spin in their case.

They are over paid, over sexed, and over educated. Never had a real job in their lives. Every one should spend some time baling hay. Then they would have some idea of what real work is. My two cents

You ought to think about the lifestyle of a newspaper reporter for a few seconds before you denigrate them. Maybe the guys at the top have it easy, but they got there from working long, grueling hours, always against a deadline. They don't have quite the same work schedule as a dairy farmer, but it's not much better.

As far as the original poster's complaint, I'd have the hear some examples. Sure, there is a lot of news reporting that isn't objective, but on the whole I think the news media does a pretty good job of reporting the facts. I think the print media does a better job than radio and TV, but that has more to do with the amount of time they can spend on a story rather than any inherent bias.

No news paper, retired public employee. They are always looking to dig up dirt on someone who works for the Gov. Have'nt you seen the chicks with the D cups on TV?? Do you think they would have those jobs if they were flat chested???? NOOOO Way man. It's the only reason I watch the news.
