Some time ago there was a link to some pictures of the devistation caused by a Tornado ripping through a J.D. dealers yard, I think they were taken by a lorry driver who was sleeping in his cab at the time the tornado hit. My 9 year old son is doing a topic on tornados at school, and I wondered if any of you had the link to them. Thanks in advance, Richard in New Zealand.

A BIG thanks to you all, and thanks Jose, the pictures of people in the school gym made homeless from the tornado covered by the Fredricksburg newspaper really bring home the real damage caused by a big storm, our thoughts are with them. Thanks again everybody.

My brother lived near there and helped clean up in the days afterwards. Here are a few more pics - one is the radar image as it went over - one of the weathermen said the "circle" that flairs up briefly in the radar is the debris field of the town as it lifted into the air.

Enough stuff flying around that it showed up on radar!

Pretty amazing damage considering they were INSIDE the shop!

Gary from Muleshoe said: (quoted from post at 06:58:47 05/22/08) You may want to Google up Greensburg, KS. That town a wiped out completely a couple years ago. I remember seeing pictures of a JD dealership there that was wiped out. I think these were the pictures you may have seen.

Yep.. it was Greensburg here in Kansas. I had all those pictures saved here on my computer at work, but they got deleted when I.T. did a bunch of updates. I'll see if I can retrieve them for you.

Do not have those pictures, but Google up the Fredericksburg Free-Lance Star. This area was recently hit by a tornado and the recent additions have many pictures of the devastation it caused.
