Hi again, this is some photos of a typical irrigation paddock not far from here. Trench runs past the front of the paddock, the black pipes are manually started to syphon from the trench to the paddock. As the paddocks are very flat it works ok. Not the most efficient use of water, but reasonably cheap to set up.
AS you can see by the photos, we are still in drought.
God Bless,
Rex

"Owyagoin"Rexoright? Great pictures mate. Used to be in that game myself and still see the real thing every day. If these were taken where I think they were, you have probably passed within 200m of my place.

It looks like the plains of texas , around Plainview where I usta farm.Only we used alluminum tubes and canvas ditch stops(very heavy when wet and muddy),Later we used some plastic tubes and nylon ditch stops.(much easier),then gated alum. pipe. Now it is mostly sprinklers(circles).Dont miss those long days.

Oh yeah,

When I was a young man I packed so many of those silly tubes and dams that I think I wrote the book on weights and measures. Your best friend ended up being that irrigation shovel. Uff-Da!

That right there was why the spinner plow was invented. :>)
