I ran into something like that at a tractor junkyard a few weeks ago, but it had a 4 cylinder continental and was about twice the size of this one. Automotive type clutch with a chain running down the the driveshaft...it was very cool.

It's an Economy - and late models have "Power King" attached to the name. Came with 6 or 8 1/4 horse Briggs engines - usually Briggs engine. Tested at Nebraska test # 483 with a max. output of 6.2 horsepower.

Uses the little transmission and clutch out of Crosley cars.

Ask for Matt_In over on Tractor Tales. I believe he has one or two just like it.

The engine looks similar to the 12 hp air cooled that were on the old balers. Hard to tell..JB

Dought the engine is a 12 HP. The engine look to be a NUMBER SERIES B&S. The B&S Model 23 was the largest in CID at 23. If it is a Model 23 it has 9 HP. Of course it could have been repowered with a 320000 seies engine which is a truw 16 HP.
