went out and started to rewire the glow plugs on toyota skid steer today and decided to pull the dash panel to investigate. Seems the indicator that gets red when the plugs have warmed up enough was burnt out anyone have an idea where I can get one? It is just a small box that has a screen looking piece that gets red to let you know when to let go of the switch. haven't needed it in a while and was just tinkering but when I straight wired it it started it right up was so proud the glow plugs worked

The only place I know of that makes these kinds of things is BERU. They do alot of manufacturing strickly for OEM"s and you"ll have to see the OEM for those parts but they also have alot of stuff available aftermarket through their own distrubutors. Here"s a link to their website.

I'm not sure how your Toyota works but my Toyosha AC5020 has a resistor spring that is supposed to glow but doesn't for whatever reason probably because it is rusted from sitting outside all the time I can put my hand over the opening to see it and you can feel the heat but no glow its just a small heating element. I just hold it like the book says for 30 seconds and it starts right up if I don't you have to crank on it for awhile. I don't think you can hold it too long it doesn't seem to matter more heat is better IMHO.

I was told that you can hold it too long and melt the end off the plugs then you have trouble. I held it 15 sec. and tried to start and it sputtered over held for 10 more and it fired off if no one else thinks its too long I may try 30 sec next time.
