I need help! I have a 1938 Silver King R66 with a hercules IXB engine and I need a oil filter for it. It is a sock type oil filter that slides down into a canister about 4" across and about 5-6" tall. Anyone know what filter will work. I have posted this question on the Silver King web site without any real luck. Any help would be appreciated. Hank 785-748-0061

Its hard to get the sock type most places napa, fram have a filter with rubber fittings on a c metal can that is supposed to work. I have one in my silverking. Don't know if its filtering the oil.

Most of those cannisters, with a sock, were FRAM
NAPA has an amazing filter catalog, about as big
as the old Sears catalogs. It cross references
by equipment, Filter mfr., and size, and has
drawings of most everything. Also has gasket
deminsions. Get one, or have a counterman let you
look at one, you'll find what you need !
