Bought a 1850 Oliver with 18.4-38 tires and fluid in them. One rear tire was low, and the valve stems are severely corroded. I added air to it, and the valve sealed for a while, and then started to seep a little. I have new valve stems, but they are so bad looking, I'm afraid that if I try to take them out, they will break out and I can't get the new ones to go in and seal. Thinking I should leave them alone till I'm done using it and then try to fix it. Need to find another set of tires, and change tires and tubes. Chris

If they are leaking where the stem comes through the rim then the tube is leaking and there is no easy fix. Don't really have much for used that aren't committed. There were some 25% SAT Firestones available a couple weeks ago. I'll check tomorrow and see if they are around yet.

Is it leaking out of the valve core? That is where they usually leak. I have seen a good plastic valve cap seal that up for quite a while. You could even put some goo under it to help. Should be able to get by for a while. I spent part of my youth running an Ollie like that. Nice tractor , I liked running it.

Both are leaking out of valve stem, just a drip once in a while. I assume you are talking about blue silicone gasket maker? Need to find different tires, got any decent used ones? I would even buy a set of duals if they had decent tires and switch them around. Chris

If the leak is from the valve core thats an easy fix. If you fast you can take the old one out and install new ones with out jacking it up etc. I do it all the time. One hand o remove the old one, put your finger over the stem then fast install the new core. Wash off the fluid you spill and your good to go for a year or so. BTDT many times. Also works better if you get the stem up at the top so as to loose only air not fluid

Put good quality metal valve stem caps with rubber gaskets. They will make a good air / liquid seal.
