Thought I would run this 80 of beans in before it rained again. The ground was working pretty good so it seemed like a good idea to get these beans no-tilled while I had the chance. It started raining about an hour ago. I put in a couple of pics of guys working in the neighborhood today. bill third party image

I have one neighbor who plants with a four RW 7000 and another with an eight RW 7000. They do a good job too. The other day I saw someone planting with a 4 RW 7000 behind a 706 gas. I wanted to stop and ask him if I could make a round with it so I could experience the simple life again. He was hauling seed with a real nice 68 chevy half ton. This country around here is primarily planted with mega-row high dollar planters, so seeing a four row is kind of refreshing.Jim

I still farm with old small equip. Doesn't seem to make it much simpler but to me it sure makes it more fun.

I could refresh you to death! I use a 36 JD A with a 494 planter, and love every minute of it!

No, there is still a few 4RW planters being used! In my neighborhood, I know of a JD 494, one or two 7000 series, an IH 800 Cyclo and an AC planter - all 4-row wide. I'm sure if I drove around the county on a nice planting day I would see a few more. There are still a few 8-row wide guys around also, as well as me with my oddball 6-row wide JD 7200.

nice pics. I enjoy the variety of equipment out there. I managed to get my oats in yesterday before the rain came. I also got them 1000 pines planted, fertilzer spread on the corn ground and tilled in. Now hopefully corn will get in tomorow and beans on tuesday. Then all I have left is 2 acres of sweetcorn, then I can finish this darn fencing. Dont know how you guys with hundreds or thousands of acres manage with out going nutts.
