We must be having fun. 15 years ago tonight a tornado ripped through our place. Got the barns, silos, shop and other things. House was pretty good, nobody hurt. Seems like yesterday. What a mess. Wouldn't even wish that on my mother in law.

I was in a rock basement that was partly flooded from to much rain. The sump pump had stopped and there was no place to go but down there and stand in water up to knee's. Tornado was comeing right at us. It came like a roar of a big locomotive and any words said was with yelling. For when it was all over and we went out. Our pole barn was torn down and laid everywhere. It dug a ditch about 8 ft wide and as it went along tearing up other building we had. It took my 4H garden I had been working on real hard and plucked out every vegitable from the ground like hand picking and laid it to about. Our house had raised and turn on the rock basement some and took out every window in house and front door. Distroyed everything in house we had.
We even made the news paper that time. But there was one lesson I learned and it was not funny at time to me. But we had total of 6 cows and some calfs. Dad said there wild try and round them up cause they had been in the barn when it went down. So here I run and grabbed the tail of this 6 month old one. It draged me threw the mud for several feet trying to stop it. For dad said.. "Let go of the tail Larry"! lol Never did that again. Mud in mouth and from toes to top of head. lol and that's the truth!
