john deere 7020 rear brakes

where are these located exactly,also since i recently had the rear end torn down,i didn't see them antwhere near the rear end area,could they be inside the axles ?

If this is the old 4X4 from the 70's (I'm NOT sure if DEERE has recycled THAT model #), the brakes are made like IS:

looks like maybe only the right side has a plate if i'm not mistaken though,heck 1 brake plate like that ought to slow it down anyway,but what if my brakes are just stuck like i think it is ,i cant push the pedal down right now

There's brake assembly on BOTH sides. If your pedal is stuck, either the pedal pivot is rusted up, or the brake valve needs an OH.

They are the same place on them that they would be on a 4020,just inbound of the planetaries,in the trans case.If I remember correctly,the 7020 rear end is the same as a 4620.

There no "EASY" way, just one way... pull the complete final drive/axle.

There is an EXTERNAL steel brake line going to each brake.

I don't know if it is possible the 7020 only has one, as I am more familiar with the 2WD and the 84/86 30 and 40 series, which use two.
