I have a IH Hydro 86 that looses power when warm. Its fine when cold but as soon as it warms up can't even pull itself up a small hill and certainly won't do any pushing or pulling.

Is the hydro bad or what could it be? Thanks to anybody that can help !

Rita

Are you trying to pull in high range?

How is the condition of the oil? When was the last time you changed the filters?

I ran a Hydro 86 for a friend that had a weak hydro, he added a few gallons of either STP or Slick50 to make it work. High range was useless once the tractor warmed up.

Does it "slip" when hot in reverse also?

Check the transmission hydraulic oil. Sounds like the oil is either low or thinning when it warms.
