Drove home today from picking up my son from school. Got to the house and went to back up in my 1980 Chev 4X4 truck and the clutch would not come up off the floor. Hooked my foot under the pedal and got it parks. Looked it over and found the clutch linkage pivot point had broke. Called the parts store and new one will not be in till Tuesday but I need it before then so I welded a bolt on to the broke off piece and hope it holds till it either comes in or I have time to install the new one. Oh well always something going wrong it seems

I used to have a big block in a Chevelle that would do that often enough I would keep a spare.

The "hot rod" pressure plates back in those days seemed to aggrivate the problem. I think I still have scar tissue from the exhaust headers.
But of course, it never broke unless I had my good clothes on and there was a honey in a hurry to get somewhere.
