I go by a farm with horses on my way to work. There is not a blade of grass in the field that the horses are in. Too many horses for the amount of acers. It don't matter what the price of hay is,they need hay year round. So,I'll take advantage of that when it's time to sell my hay.

I dont expect to see any breaks in price this year off last years highs. Most of the custom balers around here are doubling last years price.

I sold some of last years hay that was not real good stuff for $110 ton and wish I would of had a lot more. the good stuff for $135 ton.
This year the sky is the limit depending on the price of fuel.

I just sold the last of my second crop for 165. ton. They will wait to get it till the snow is off and ground is either frost hard (early morn.)or dried out. The field road to the shop where this hay was stored is not improved.
From what I read in the ag reports it will go up next year due to availability and fuel etc cost.
