bird nest and fire

birds made a nest under the hood of my pickup truck with in the last week so today i use it and the nest catches on fire most of the wiring under the hood is toast ins. says 6000.00 to fix and it only burnt for just seconds before i had it out even have the eggs left. called ins. at 10 AM and it 130 PM the adjuster was out and had repair check in hand by 230 pm with open end if it goes over the 6000

My Daughters Toyota had the Dame Problem with Birds Nests, It got to Running sluggish... Got to Checking and the AIR FILTER was "Completely" Covered in a Bird Nest.. I can't believe it got any Air at all..It had been sitting, not driven for about a Week!<> have a GooD un" Larry KF4LKUS

must have built nest at the turbo you should be able to get the wires from the dealer and they just plug up easy $6000 to me wiring harness will prob. hit you in the $100s not $1000s so all that tractor $$ will be handy. It don't matter how much you spend of the $6000 as long as it gets fixed. your finance company wants to see it fixed. you could also check with a local mechanic couple thousand and let him pull the wires still $ in the pocket

I had a mouse nest do the same thing. I put some new plug wires on, that's it.

Wow, I'm surprised at that number. Most of your heat is on the exhaust side and most of the wirin', the expensive part anyways, is over on the intake side, where there aren't many things hot enough to light off a birds nest.
