I am looking for a 200hp or so tractor to use to plow snow in the winter. I noticed a 2670 with a snow pusher on it, wondering if anyone has one of these tractors and if so would you recommend this tractor for this use?

My father in law had a 2870 he farmed with. Wonderful tractor. There´s a 2470 at St Louis airport that I saw clearing snow on the ramp in Feb of this year.

This set-up just might work really slick. I think the crab steering could come in handy in places. {Assuming the steering / steering selector works. If I remember right, it's normal to have to rev the engine to 1500 rpm or so to get the rear wheels to steer. So don't get scared of it if this is the case.}

If you're not familiar with these old machines, find someone who is and at least pay him a steak dinner to go with you to look at it.

We have used a 2470 to push snow and manure for the past 20 years, thats all we use it for and it works very well, we have a 12 ft degalman dozer on it, I have built alot of road with it as well, with the dozer on the front and our 6 yard scraper on the back, I can build alot of road. Just make sure the power shift is in good shape and dont buy a snowblower for it, reverse gear just wont handle It.

Why so many HP?

What will you have on the front of it to push with?
