Posted this on the JD board, just thought I'd see if anyone here has any ideas. Started putting 70 gas back together, Head is done, block bored out and new pistons and rings, crankshaft was turned and new main bearings. Got the crank in and found out I don't have a gasket for the left main bearing housing. I ordered new ones and thought I had one, but I put all the gaskets together, and there ain't one for that. If I wait till Monday and order a new gasket, it will be here Wednesday. Rather not wait that long, would like to get her back together while it's too wet to get in the field. Could I get away with making one if I can find some thin gasket material? The one for the right side in real thin paper gasket. Don't think I can use silicon to make one, there is a oil passage in the bearing housing, when it squeezed in, it would plug oil passage. Any ideas what I could use to make a new gasket? Gasket does betwen crankcase and bearing housing. Thanks, Chris
