Things have not changed to much for him except he was move to the VA Hospital for rehabilitation. The doctors have told him that he will most likely be in wheel chair for the rest of his life. He may be able to walk some eventually but never as he did before the accident. He still has no feeling in his feet, and no control over his bowels or bladder. The doctors are hopeful that this will subside when the swelling goes down and the nerves begin to heal themselves. He will be in rehab for at least six months they say. Eventually he will be able to go home on weekend passes. Keep the prayer coming for him and the family. We just never know when life as we know it is gonna change for us. Thanks to all of you for your prayers.

Don't ever give up hope. During fall harvest about six years ago, the son of a high school classmate of mine was standing on top of a loaded gravity wagon. Someone else didn't realize he was up there and dug out with the tractor, throwing Bruce off the top of the wagon.

His spine was injured and he couldn't move from the waist down. He told the guys, "Whatever you do, don't try to move me". They lifelined him to a hospital in Lincoln where the doctors initially told him he'd never walk again.

He's walking today. Granted, he uses a cane and has a brace on one knee, but he's walking around under his own power, never the less. And is back to being a productive husband and father.

So, hang in there and never give up. Miracles do happen.

my brother in law got hit by a train and is paralyzed from the waist down. in a wheel chair he does pretty good but gave up on doing anything with his life other than drinking and that is what helped him into the chair in the first place. keep him working on his legs and find him something he can do from a chair for work
