Has anyone noticed the change to ebay's categories? They don't have sub categories by tractor make anymore. I've sent them an email by using the "contact us" link under the help menu. I'm sure I'm not the only one that doesn't like the change so send them an email.

I'm not too enthrawled with Ebay anymore. I used to buy quite a bit on Ebay. It seems they are just putting the buyer (and probably the seller too) into more and more of a corner. Now you can't tell at all who you are bidding against with their secret little bidders codes "b---r" etc and now you can't check the feed back on those ones either. Regardless of how safe Ebay says they are keeping us there is lots of shill bidding goes on by one method or another.

I used to dislike it when some bidders did not bid at all on an item and scooped it at the last few seconds. I know you have to do that sometimes to protect yourself but I always thought it rather "un-gentleman like" to not bid until the last minute and I did not practise that (always showed my intent with one or two earlier bids). Now, it's not so interesting and I pass on a lot of stuff. If it's something I want I'll go after it and that might be at the end of the game. I also very much dislike them pushing Paypal the way they do with it's limited protection that they profess to be so-o-o safe.

Another issue I have is that you're supposed to have a choice in the search of searching "titles only" or "titles and descriptions". My thing is Versatile tractors and equipment etc. I used to enter "Versatile" in the search and did not include searching the descriptions. This only brought up everything that had the word "versatile" in the description which was predominantly anything Versatile as in Versatile macinery. It starteda few months ago that when I searched using Versatile it would bring up thousands of ladies dresses etc.. When I looked at the title for these items the wor versatile is nowhere to be seen in the title. Upon examination of the listing I found that under description there is a categorie Occasion: and the seller has entered Versatile to this. As far as I'm concerned this is part of the description not the title. I then questioed this with Ebay and received a couple of automatic replys that helped "f--- all" and nothing further has happened. Sorry for being so long here but the more I typed the more I wanted to say. So- I'm trying to get Ebay out of my system. Hope you get a better response than I did.

e-bay has been tring all kind of things to bolster their business. Bottom line it's hard to keep giving the stock owners 10% more every year and keep customers happy.

It's all a part of the "new" ebay. You all might just as well get used to it, 'cause ebay ain't gonna change. Your best option now is to look for the parts you need by doing a Google or Yahoo search because it won't be too long before no one can afford to sell on ebay.

Many sellers have already moved to e-crater.com

Sellers of what? If I go in and type in Farmall in the search, I get 11 pages, 9 different sellers, with you taking up a little over 2 pages. No chance to bid, no chance to possibly get a good deal..... How is it better? Im not criticizing by no means, just want to know whats so much better about ecrater? I would think with a limited number of items on ecrater, even though its free, you wouldnt make near as much money. Me personally, Id much rather put it on ebay, where it could reach millions of people, vs. ecrater where someone will look at what i want for something, and not even have the chance to dicker alittle bit.

John, if you want cheap bargains, go ahead and shop on ebay, place your bid, and wait 7 days to see if you are the winner. Don't forget that you are also bidding against the shill bidders, so if by chance you are declared the winner, you will still have paid just what the seller wanted in the first place. Was it a bargain?

Now, on the other hand, if you want new parts, and you want them now, just go to e-crater, buy it, and it will be sitting in your mailbox in just 2 to 3 days.

Also, I sell parts to make a small profit. Ebay was eating up all of those profits. That is why I no longer sell on ebay.

Didn't someone say a few days back that eBay had a huge 1st quarter loss?

Stands to reason, with the higher fees and other changes turning alot of people off.

Pages on manuals and catalogs that came up with the new format had a place at the bottom of the page (I think) that said you could switch back to the old format, which I did...don"t recall any question there to answer, but haven"t gotten any more new format pages...

James noticed and didn"t like it either. We"ll see about changing back to the old format and see if they change the whole program back to old format.

You can go back to the old format if you want.I changed mine back by clicking on the "welcome to the new Ebay" in the upper right corner.Mine gave me the option of going back to the old format and answering questions about how I liked the new Ebay.
