I know I have a seal leaking there between tranny and clutch housing. How do I fix that. Do I break it down at the clutch, or can I pull the tranny cover off and go from there. And will I need any special tools. What can I expect to be getting into. Don't want any suprises. Had this same problem on a 730 Deere, and turned into quite a job, but got it done. I feel like I'm dealing with basically the same issues and mechanics. Someone who has been here, please respond, thanks. Alan

Are you sure that it"s tranny oil and not engine oil? The rear main seal also can leak into that weep hole. Regardless, you have to split the tractor and I would advise you to get a Ferguson Shop Manual for your TO-35 before you split it. It will give you the low by blow instructions for splitting the tractor and doing the repair.

Having never done it, I don"t know whether there are any special tools required, but the Shop Manual will tell you BEFORE you open it up.

No special tools needed ,but if you take the clutch off you will need a pilot shaft. The seal on the input shafts are usually the problem. An IT Manual will guide you through the procedure and gives dimensions for clutch tools. Might want to check rear motor seal out while you have it apart( usually rubber seal is hard and cracked) Not a hard job ,but not a quickie. All parts need are still available from Massey ( two gaskets and two seals if it has a two stage clutch).Check throw-out and pilot bearings also.

Thanks for the info guys. It most definitely is gear oil, from the input shaft like you said. I have the manual ordered also. Thanks again.
