You should start by checking the fuse. Then check to see if you get voltage to the little wire of the solenoid when you turn the key to start. If the fuse is good and you have voltage to the key switch then the switch is bad. Its a comman problem.

Might be easier to find Big Dean over on the Massey page. Could your neutral safety switch be bad? Or maybe the solenoid itself be bad you can jump across a bad solenoid.

I would think that the only other part of that starting system would be the starter button switch, could it be bad? I am only going by my 50 gas Massey- Harris. the key switch must be good or you could not start it by jumpimg across the solenoid. When you do find the problem would you please post and let us know? Tom

Hello It happens every time, i turn the key and nothing happens, i thought it was the solenoid, so i changed it out, but it did not fix it.

Colin I am not familiar with the 50 Diesel, on my gasser the key is on the right side of the dash and there is a starter button on the left side that has to be pushed to start. I had starter button to go bad on a 504 Farmall once so I would think it could happen on a Massey also. Just a thought but do you have the hi-lo shifter in nuetral? Tom
