HI I have some troubles with my 460 I feel tat the final drive is failing since it feels like one of the tires is out of round and it gets into a "Clown bike thing ( like the axel is not centerd and it occelates) IT was working ok and then it felt like I hit something and it stopped when I backed it up it began this rocking motion.

And where can I get a repair manual ( I have a parts and opperators book) ?

Thanks

sounds like you have an axle bearing bad. I would not drive or move it too mutch without checking it out. i am not sure if you have a final drive or a bull gear but If the tractor locked up you have problems. I have a long 445dt coming in this week for a hyd problem I will check it out.
Good luck Ed

Thanks Guys

I do not opperate this tractor my business partner does so when I looked at it today I noticed a lot of Hydrolic fluid all ove rthhe back HE said he has to add fluid every day ( AH... should i say he is Not mechanicaly inclined? no idid not think so : )

Under closer inspection while I was jacking up the wheels I noticed the entire Rear lift assembly that the seat bolts to was loose and up in front about 1/2 in Gee wonder where the trans fluid was going :)

I re tightend the assembly five bolts the front right was not able to tighten may be broken or too short ( previous owner may have mixed up bolts/lengthes.

Anyway after dooing the ordenary maintence it seems to be OK.

I know that some tractors have a gear that runs the lift and that might have been in a bind ( or not I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks again

Chuck

PS any body know if the power steering can be repaired ? NO leaks just no power.

C Pressmail ---

If it was me, I wood jack up each rear wheel one at a time...block the wheels that are on the ground, put it in nutral and spin the wheel, see if it is out of round... you may try putting something like a pointer next to the tire...

Could be axel or the wheel is bent?...
Get on the tractor ,start engine at idle put in low gear watch each wheel...

Turn the wheel in differn't spots, release, see if tire has heavy area...

....good luck...Don
