Well I just bought two J.D. Tractors an A and a 60 was looking for something to pull my P.T.O driven J.D. 30 combine.I might have paid to much .The guy said they ran about 6-7 years ago they turn over fine ,but I cant start them until I get some wires for them.I tried get spark out of the 1 wire that was there on the A did not see any spark. Are these tractors pretty forgiven as far as setting around for awhile and then starting again after years of setting? The guy said they ran fine when park outside 7 years ago. Both in excellent to good condition tin wise ,rubber looks decent that I can see sunk in mud alittle.Gave the guy $2000 for the 60 and $1500 for the A fair deal or not little late to be asking now they are close to home at least. Thanks for reading replies would be great.

If they only require cleaning up and tweaking stuck parts, minor external overhaul/rebuild/cleaning. You did just fine.
For pto work if the 60 has live pto, power steering along with the live hydraulics, water pump and duplex carb. You will be leaving the A sit most of the time.
May as well purchase the parts, service and operator's manuals now or wish you had.1-800-522-7448
