OK today its going to be 75 that's about 10 to 15 degrees above normal, so to make up for that they said it may snow on Tuesday. Talk about crazy weather.
Anyway i used the nice weather to repair my driveway, put the box scraper on the Kubota and chiseled and scraped it to get rid of the winter chuck holes. Mama was really complaining when we went to town on Friday morning.

For Marlowe & So? Yes, snow was up to the belt here. But for the past SEVERAL years, I'd say the ice has been thinner. Back in the 1950's & 1960's, you'd shovel snow off the slough for skating & there'd be thick enough ice there. So I'm just wondering if there's more going on than snow depth? Remember how Grandparents used to describe tough Winters? (Walking to school in it?) Ice skating is not so great anymore. End.

Here is something Al Gore does NOT want you to read. It seems that the snowmelt in the antarctic was down by 40% this past winter.

A start to the lies

All of the articles I can find pertaining to the UK case indicate the judge did not object to the overall conclusions in the case that global warming is happening and it is being escalated by humans. It is very difficult to prove something in court. Circumstantial evidence, no matter the quantity or likelyhood can not be relied upon to prove anything.

I did read through the 11 objections and they seem pretty minor to me. I would liken it to saying that since your tractor now has aftermarket wheels and a seat from the farm store it is not a John Deere. There may be a few things that aren't perfect but it is still what it is.
Keep in mind that until the late 1990's it could not be proved in a court of law that tobacco causes cancer. It really still can't. In fact there are still some scientists who dispute the fact that tobacco causes cancer or that nicotine is addictive.

" In fact there are still some scientists who dispute the fact that tobacco causes cancer or that nicotine is addictive"

So scientists disagree. It happens all the time.

some scientists say global warming or cooling ( whatever it is at the time) is made.

Many scientists say it isn't.

Who is right?

The ones that say it is are promoting global taxation through the UN. Are you into paying a global tax every time you fartt?

Just a couple items:
1. It seems mankind ought to be a little cautious- look at the "hole in the ozone", from a few years back. So maybe seemingly little things (activities) can cause large changes.
2. The shrinking of what is left of the mountain glaciers in the Rockies seems pretty alarming. Look at like Mt. Moran's glacier in the Tetons. There are others I could mention.
3. We used to ice skate on ponds around here (SW Wis.) and this Winter I could never even trust the ice to walk out on it. OK, maybe the sun is just getting hotter. But for myself, the jury is still out.

All of you know Algore is full of himself(shutt). Temperature goes up and it goes down regardless of what humans do. We are so insignificant, we make no difference at all. This planet is so huge, and has existed so long, we are a fart in the wind. If it gets warm, water evaporates from oceans, lakes, etc., and adjusts itself.... Thermosyphon, and self cools as is required.. End of story . No BS. Wayne

And once again I will point out some REAL SCIENTIFIC EVIDENDCE. The polar "ice" (frozen CO2) caps on Mars are melting. There's also warming on Pluto or Uranus, one of the ones way out there. Now if Al Gore can tell me how MAN is influencing weather on Mars I'll eat my hat! Climates change naturally, weather patterns change. But the Earths climate is affected by 2 things- the Sun and the Oceans, especially the Pacific. The Sun warms the Oceans- temps climb. The Sun doesn't warn the Ocean, like when My Punitumbo (SP) or Krakatoa (sp) blew up, and it cools.

The problem is Al Gore won't make millions on that "Inconvenient Truth"!!!!

Warm today....cold a couple of days from now. A good way to describe normal spring weather.

IMO, the weather on this planet is complicated and influenced by so many factors, and there are "global" weather cycles which play out over centuries or even millenia. To think that a group of anyones can tell us what the weather is doing and why, based on the "scientific" records of just the last couple hundred years would take a tremendous leap of faith. Yes faith.

We are about to have a very untimely freeze here in southern Missouri. This will be the second year in a row. I guess someone will say that this is the result of disturbed weather patterns caused by global warming. I don't care. Cold is cold. Two years in a row with no fruit from our trees and a bunch of freeze damage to prune out... that is cold.

I have spent most of my life listening to chicken littles running around screaming that the sky is falling and it is all our fault. It gets real old. In my opinion, this is all about power and money. Same as always.

But what can you do????

Christopher

Actually, when you look at statistics, a couple hundred data points should give you a pretty good statistical picture. And other data, like ice cores from the polar regions, and the retreat of glaciers, support the theory. Most scientists agree with it, but some disagree on details.

Al Gore is thinking that all us lower, and soon to be eliminated middle class, are the ones that actually give a darn about this country and its land and air. There fore, he can get paid to due speeches on global warming and make it the "feel good" fad for the next 20 years. Us poorer and middle folks will be the ones changing our habits, going green, paying the taxes, making the donations, and all that stuff that good people will do their part for. Mean while, ALL them companies that poeple like he own, have stock on, or are being paid by to promote "global warming, can make a fortune from all us, and at the same time, we all will be improving his world if it's it will make a difference, all with no cost or lifestyle change from him and his groupies. Allright PC crowd, this is MY befief and nothing I said here is from any factual study from any kind. Ever seen the movie "Antz", we are the workers, they are the big shots, I dont think we will ever be able change it like they little worker ants did at the end of the movie.

I myself beleive there has been some change because;Pond had seven inch thich ice when I was a kid.Lawn tractors drove on it to plow etc.My dad had organized winter carnavals for the town etc.Same pond has not had skating for years.Only things that freeze are the slabs like basketball courts or where the water turns to all ice. However one hour north ponds freeze just fine. But whatever lattitude Im on definatly got warmer.

I agree, this winter has been pretty stout, but it isn't near what I remember as a kid. I remember thousands of cars on the lakes here, ice fishing. And those were heavy cars! And we could ice fish from December thru February. Lakes don't even freeze over until January now, and sometimes not even then. But the real issue will be decided by data, how the temperatures change over time. It will always vary, but the issue is is it trending up or not?

Ordinarily I would agree with you that the man is full of crap. The other day my wife had borrowed his documentary from the library and had it in while I was working in the next room but could see the tv. The man does appear to have some points that have some pretty solid scientific observation behind them.

Speaking of driveways and weather, that reminds me of a 51 year old man near Warwick, NY who had a lot of ice on his driveway. He got tired of listening to his wife complain about it so, after a few beers one Saturday afternoon, he poured gasoline on it and set it on fire. He then slipped on the ice and fell into the fire. He was airlifted to a burn center.
