I am thinking off buying a 1655 oliver. With diesel prices being so high I am thinking of buying a gas. Can anyone tell me about how many gallons an hour the gas and the diesel use.

My father runs a 1600. Around 4 gal/hr. Gasser. this is pulling a small 273 baler and wagon. I pull the same rig with my Super H for around 2.5 gal/hr. Other than the fuel use, he seems to really like the thing. Mike

The gasser's are quite thirsty. I've got a 1600 gas and she'll suck it down a whole lot faster than our 1855 diesel when we're filling the silo. The 1855 chops and the 1600 mans the blower. Both pretty demanding jobs.

I have a 72 model diesel. It burns around 2-2.5 gph depending on the load.

It will burn 2 to 3 times what the diesel will burn doing the same job

I have a White 2-70 diesel which is the same exact same tractor as a 1655 Oliver and I have an Oliver 1550 gas which is less power than the 2-70 and 1655 but the 1550 uses more fuel. At this point I would still go with a diesel but the Oliver gas tractor are excellent tractors other than fuel consumption.
