One of best heavy drawbar load trans made! You just idle or have engine going to idle while pushing little left clutch like pedle in.Than put in gear-release pedal very quick. Speed up engine an away you go.yOU CAN RUN PLOWING ALL DAY AN NO HARM. However you can pull up leaver on steering wheel an that locks out torque converter same as modern auto trans an will save fuel. Later as you come to tough spot in field yoy disengage direct drive with handle on steering an tractor will slow but will develop torque to pull you through tough spot.I have 830 with it with many thousands of hrs an it has never been touched an still pullit in some pulls. Torque converter was built by Twin Disc company an is a totally machined industrial type unit.Unit holds 4 gal of case tch fluid an has a edge wound filter on it. Late models had axcelerator on both sides of platform so you could use left foot to control engine-right foot on brakes-an 1 hand on steering an other on hyd controls.Unbeatable for heavy tillage!!!!! !!!!! However for pto work if you needed to sudenly clear a wad going into a baler you would have to push in clutch an when cleared slow engine an than release clutch. You can not leave clutch out with engine at full speed as clutch takes hold imediately. Kind of like reveing up your car an pulling in gear.
