Well it is 9:23 pm Wednesday evening here in mid Missouri and the rain is coming down. Lightning and thunder are being heard and seen at times. How the heck can anyone get this much rain here in such a short time. Think weatherman said total of a bit more then 12 " so far and it's rain now and more coming tomorrow. Shesssss but it's going to be one hot summer and no rain when you needed it.

We've had our fourth day of very strong west winds and that usually means y'all east of here have some more bad weather coming.

Some fields here under pivot irrigation have their first cuttings. :)

Well it worked us over real good last night. I noticed this am on the forcast that there will be a problem tonight along the river in the Ill, Mo, TN area.

On rain, was reading yesterday that we have the La Nina influence again this year which can make for a very wet spring. According to the meterologists, if it lasts longer the summer won't be as dry.....in short you go from mud to desert like switching a light on and off. If it quits early then there will be a long dry summer.

Well, you have to have a dry field to produce hay. And it helps to have some moisture for regrowth. Additionally, for 3 cuttings, it takes 3x45 days. So I am caught in the middle...plant too late and the last cutting is beset with cool damp fall weather. Plant too soon and the first cutting rots.

Maybe I'll just sell out and go fishing. Naw the fish don't bite (other than catfish) with all this rain.

Mark
