80W90 or 134D/equivelant. I prefer 134D because it helps them shift easier. 80W90 can be a bit heavy in cold weather...

Book calls for one oil in all three systems in those tractors. Tranny, rear end and Power steering. None of them use 80w90. Transhyd fluid is what it calls for. Available at Fleet Farm, WalMart etc.
I still trudge down to the dealer and buy the Ford spec 134D for mine.
Folks on this board are a great group of folks and have vast knowledge about tractors in general.
For Ford questions I would ask on the Ford Board.
Fellows there have more specific knowledge about your tractor.

Another question, are you saying that the book calls for hydraulic fluid in the power steering also?

"Thank You, Gilbert

I use 80W90 gear oil in the transmission, and transhydraulic oil in the rearends of my tractors. Hope this helps.
Bruce.
