Sorry for the slow reply, I've been real busy. When either $ex is portrayed as a $ex object, it is degrading. Is it any wonder our kids have the problems they do when the top item being advertised is $ex? I work at a community college and I am appalled at how the girls dress. The males all have the trashy baggy pants and literally have to hold their pants so they don't fall off when they walk. They look like little boys who need to go to the bathroom.

I would have a talk with your kids about the dignity of the human body and when they see pictures like that just what is being advertised? Selling it on calendars or anything else is cheap. Ask your son is that the kind of girl you want to marry and spend your life with? Ask your daughters the same question. I would remove all the $exy calendars, whether male or female. Hopefully you and they are Christians. Remember your bodies are the holy temple of the Lord.

Should you go to the gym - only if you particularly want to get in shape, not to try to be a pin-up. Be who you are, be true to God and yourself. If you try to be something you're not, you will only make yourself, and probably your family, miserable.

One wise person (sorry don't remember who) said "Any man can please a woman once, the challenge is to please one woman for a lifetime." The same goes for women, too.

My email is open.

it all comes down to individual rights, mixed with respect,a hot looking woman hanging on the INSIDE wall of a farm shop or barn is fine, its access is limited to only people who have business being in there and if they dont like to see that i hope they have enough sence not to look at it, however thats not something that needs to hang in a area open to the public, our parents, who went thru the first depression, and at least 1 world war, taught us proper maners and most of what is acceptable and what is not, the last 3 generations are missing this step, parental guidance, shoot some of these kids don't even know who both parents are, the media has promoted this " no rules dont touch my child theme" with movies where the kid runs the household, and programs like mtv kids promote it on places like my space themselves, when somebody's kid acts like a animal and gets punished for it, the cps steps in and locks the parent up, no wonder todays kids are cluless

Good on you Nancy, I like you and are happy to read your posts. You are not afraid to stand on your faith and love your long term husband, but you also enjoy your tractor! I for one reckon there is nothing wrong with the old time standards and reckon they can go along side old type tractors! I like them both anyway. LOL
God Bless,
Rex

Your talking to an Old Navy guy here with a girl tattooed on his arm. I for one like this open society if you want where coveralls and long sleeve shirts go for it, but leave the rest of us to enjoy the beautiful human bodies.
Walt

I agree with that. There is nothing wrong with looking at a picture of an attractive person, male or female on a poster or calender. We're lucky we have a choice in N. America. Some countries the women can't be seen in public and must cover their face. How a person dresses or looks makes no difference as long as they aren't causing any trouble or bothering you. It has nothing to do with religion! It's called freedom! Be glad we have it and aren't in a communist state. Better not go to the beach, you might see some skin! I don't think a poster with someone who looks good ever hurt anyone. If a picture of someone very attractive is so bad, I guess all women should throw away their makeup? They might look too good and be offensive to others. With all the garbage and hate going on in the world, who really cares about some pictures of people on a calendar? Dave

Like the next fello says you can't hide from Him.-My prayers are that you get to know Him before you leave this world,so we can meet on the other side.If you believe Jesus gave His life to pay for our sins. My motto is: [I will carry my sword for the blood of the lamb. And I will fear not my destination]. I am not preaching,I am not as good of a christian as I should be,but I know the only unforgivable sin is not to believe in Him.

When I was in comm. college, 16-20 years ago. I wore appropriate clothes, jeans, button down shirt. The college where you work needs to have a dress code for ALL. The girls dress like H**kers and the guys with falling down pants is totally uncalled for. No since of decency anymore.

It's amazing in this politically correct world, what is allowed on college campus, in the work place, in public in general. I'm no prude and yes I've been around the block. I'm given the latitude to determine what is appropriate on my shift at work. We have policies that ban all exposed jewelry except wedding bands which must be taped. And proper clothing that is not so loose as to be caught in conveyors etc. Shirts are a minimum of a tee shirt with sleeves and no plunging necklines or bare midsections. Pants are just that, no shorts allowed and no tattered or torn pants or shirts. blue jeans are recommended but respectable pants are allowed. and footware must be a safety certified shoe.
The reason I mention this is I've had literally hundreds of temporary employees show up for work that certainly were not dressed for the job and work enviroment and yes as an employer you can tell people what your expectations for proper dress are and they will abide. I've had a few that would challenge the policies based on "their right of free expression", those few found the door before the shift started.
I once had 2 temps show up for work dressed in a way of which I would have been uncomfortable standing near them in the local bar room let alone a work place, I sent them away. The lady from the temp agency called and read me the riot act about 'individual rights', how hard it is to get good people ya da ya da ya da. I reminded her that she had been issued a copy of our company's requirements for dress, conduct etc.
She informed me that we had no right to dictate such things. I reminded her that I had options.
This cost her agency 21 positions. I'm also given the latitude to staff my shift from 3 different agencies as I see fit. I advised the people I had working through that agency to sign with another agency and then I pulled my shift's business to the other agency which has been very cooperative in sending in good people who can follow the same standards that the full time folks are required to follow. Within 2 weeks the other 2 shift supervisors followed my lead.

Nancy Preach it sister, we need more Christians like you in the pulpit. Now days when we preach a message like that we offend the people. But it is still a message that needs to heard by all. Parents that turn their heads the other way when their kids are doing these things are to blame. I have two sons that have done every thing that I said no to when they were going up. One has piercing and tattoos every where you can imagine and the other is gay. Both know that this father is strictly against all of these things. I have taken a stand for God and no one or no thing will ever make me turn away from him, not even a relationship with a child.

Some have said I am to harsh in my thinking toward my sons. They are the people that look the other way when their son or daughter is doing things that go against God and His word.

It is time us Christians take a stand before this country that was founded on God"s word goes completely to the lake of fire.

Nancy I hope we meet some day, I have a feeling we would get along just fine. You think a lot like my wife, a good Christian woman.

What is good about your post is that you dislike the THINGS your sons have chosen to do. So often we forget that God loves every single person. Its the actions we choose that He hates. We must always remember to hate the sin, not the sinner.

One of the things the gay rights people won't tell you, is that there are increasing numbers of people leaving the gay lifestyle. They want you to think once gay, always gay and its not true.

As for your other son, the lady who owns and runs the feed store where I do business is a good Christian lady as is her family. One of her sons took to "the wild side" - tattoos, dabbled in drugs, etc. He has come back to the fold and is now helping in the feed store. So be in prayer for both of your sons, there is hope for both of them.

Many of God's people that I meet, I only get to visit with for a short time. You and I may never meet in this life, but one my pleasures is knowing that at some point, when time is no more, we shall have eternity to visit and get to know each other.
