I reluctantly went to the auction for a few hours this morning. I should of dressed more for winter - but . . . it's called a spring auction and not supposed to be 18 degrees F. Some stuff sold pretty cheap, and of course, some high. For the most part, the place was so crowded it was hard to tell what was going on. Police were there towing away vehicles. The main highway had trucks and trailers parked on both sides plus the middle-island as far as you could seen. I bought a John Deere 300B diesel backhoe-loader with a odd-looking cab on it. Runs great, hydraulic reverser works good, hoe and loader works fine, rear tires like new, but the steering is sloppy. I paid $4000 - which is the cheapest I've ever seen a good running 300 hoe go for. It wasn't my plan to buy, I had come for something else.

What's that cab tractor to the left. Resembles a Valment, but I don't know.

It's a Belarus 925 turbo 4WD. It was in real nice shape and supposedly had 400 original hours on it. Sold for $5000.

me and my neighbor were just talking about this morning, well we actually said I think today "was" mcfaddens,, at that was at 9:00,,

I was there once, that was 4 yrs ago, it was packed, and like you said you really couldnt see what was being auctioned,, lots of lookers,, I remember being parked about a mile away,, and yep cars and trucked partked both sides and the middle median,,

I went looking for a used good size tractor,, I couldnt touch anything decent,, I ended up seeing a new TN 55 at springers for a very good price,, well we went home with that,

That was the first and last experience with mcfaddens,, I guess it has something to do with the first "spring" auction,, plus being close to albany and the eastern states help to huh??

good luck with the hoe, sounds like you done good,, sometimes you have to get those deals even when they are not planned,,, you didnt even look at it before hand right?? pat

That Cab is neat - looks like its got enough head room for Herman Munster! Yeah, Spring auction - I bet tomorrow morning it will be even colder! Are you going to the Duanesburg auction on the 19th?
