Will 16.1 tires work on a 16 rim

I am considering installing a 13.50-16.1 Implement tire on the back of a John Deere 850. The rim size is 12x16. The tires would be tubed. Does anyone know if that extra .1" would cause the tires to slip on the rim?

We are looking for more traction than the stock turf tires offer, but aren't looking at changing the ride height, floatation, or rims.

Thanks for the help.

If I recall correctly it"s not a correct fit. The angle on the rim flange is different than the 16.0 wheel. Therefore you risk having the tire "blow" off of the rim. Also the rim for the 16.1 is usually built to withstand greater loads.

be careful.

All I can say is back in my tractor pulling days we mounted 18.4 X 16.1 Firestone Pullers on a pair of special ordered 18 inch wide 16 inch Crager Super Trick wheels. We mounted tubless to save wieght sealing the beads with silicone and screwed the beads to the rims.
