Prayed and amen. It is all in God's hands but not always easy to accept. Pray for everyone you know and tell them to do the same.

It's very sad to hear about anything that involves children and death. It was very fortunate that half of the bus riders(14) weren't even injured, so they could assist with the rescue. I'm also glad that it wasn't mini vans or suvs carrying the children as the results would have bee more horrific.

I can feel for them. My home town of Seward, Nebraska went through the same ordeal several years ago when a school bus went off a temporary bridge in a constructions zone in west Omaha while coming home from a band competition. The bus landed on its side in a creek 34 feet below the bridge.

Three students and a parent/chaperone died, and several other students are permanently injured.

It was a combination of a relatively inexperienced driver, (21 year old college student) driving a 64 passenger Bluebird cab-over bus he was not familiar with, trying to negotiate a bypass around a construction area that created the illusion of oncoming traffic being across the center line. Local drivers avoided the area in passenger cars. But--a group of several busses had entered Omaha by that route, and the drivers assumed they could return safely the same way.

My prayers to all involved.

Thanks for the reminder to keep these families in our prayers. A very sad time for this community indeed. It sure reenforces the need to live each day to it's fullest and not take anything for granted.

My prayers are already said. Words can't describe what it's like to lose a child. Small communities are so good at giving support to families in need and I'm sure Cottonwood is one of them. Jim
