I had a buddy use his Yanmar with a 4 foot bushhog and it kept over heating. But of course the land was ROUGH!! but he was still doing GOOD work with it!!!

Got a YAN murray here also. its a 2220 4 wheel drive , with loader , Used Daily feeding round bales to cows. I would like to put a block heater on it , Will not start below 30 degrees with out a small sniff of ether , below 0, motor will hardly crank fast enough to start it .. Love the Powershift , however gear shift Range selector very stiff and hard to shift . Powerful But. Will run up on hot side when working . Especially when pulling 2 rakes in tandem in 90 degrees+ heat . Not the fuel Mizer I hoped it would be .. My 430 Case diesel uses less and does more with the same amount of fuel ,, All in All and all qwirks aside , I am glad to have the Yanmar around here , Just wish I could had bought it for what the Case cost me.

Lots of opinions out there in the field.

I had a Satoh with a Mitsubishi engine...maybe the whole thing was built by Mitsubishi....it was a POS.

I also had a JD 1050, built by Yanmar and without a doubt..out of the half dozen using tractors I have owned...it was the very best. In fact, as I have said before, I wish Yanmar built ALL of JD's tractors! It ran on fumes, had lots of power and dead reliable. Like an idiot, I sold it and bought a new bigger JD. I should have kept it. It had a few flaws though...no PS and none could be found to add on. It has dry brake shoes, expensive to replace and they don't last long. Everything else was bulletproof. I had that tractor for over 20 years and it never had the first leak...anywhere. The Yuasa battery that came in it lasted 17 years (seventeen)!

I've had a Mitsubishi 25 hp 4x since 1990. Second owner, new from a dealer. Has a loader and hoe.

My only PTO, it powers my generator and splits my firewood. Then delivers it. No mowing here, top of a mountain. Until I got a larger tractor, it hauled a lot of logs out of the woods.

They're light tractors. I've ripped my front axle off, but that wasn't use, more abuse. My Cats have had similar experiences. I went to them when I couldn't keep my JD ready to work.

Parts are no worse than Cat or Case or JD, in my experience. Neither is reliability. You'd do well to check the Mitsubishi forum. Lots of owners and a pair of dealers.

Good luck

I'm using a lil grey market yanmar around the bar now, with a loader. had to make up some rear wheel weights for it cuz it tried to catapult me out of the seat everytime I picked up a wheelbarrow load of stone dust, but other than that A-OK. I used a pair of old dually wheel filled with cement for rear wheel weights- worked alrght

The Yanmar 330 is the exact same tractor as the JD 950 except it has 33HP like the 1050.I've had several Yanmar's and they are clearly superior to any of the Kubota's I've used.Parts are avilable over the 'net for any yanmar

I have owned two small Yanmars one a American Market 155 4wd and a grey market 1401 and both these tractors gave excellent service. I still have the 1401 that I maintain 4 acres. I use it to mow, till, plow and also operate a chipper shredder. The 1401 is approx. 16 hp. I also have a 60 acre farm approx. 90 miles away and there is a lot of steep ground therefore I have a NH 3930 4wd and a grey market Mitsubishi BDF2 dozer. As for parts availability I have had more difficulity with the NH parts procurment than with the Yanmar. There is good parts availability for many Yanmar grey models and fast service. I have found the part prices to be comperable with NH,JD etc. The secret of buying a grey market tractor is know your dealers reputation. There are some junk grey markets being sent to Viet Nam for a "total reconditioning" and imported to the U.S. beware of these. I feel that grey Mitsubishi parts are harder to come by but I have completely replaced the undercarriage of my dozer without parts problem however the parts were pricy.
