Well this morning at 11am it was 62 out and now at 4:30 its 24 out and snowing. I have had one of those days it would have been better to have stayed in bed. Went to town to get some parts and milk etc. Came out of the one store and in the side wall of my front truck tire is a thorn, neighbor of mine likes to cut thorn tree along my drive way and let them lay and one blew into my drive way and got the tire. Went to go get another one, there covered under warranty but the store didn't have one. So I had to drive 15 miles to the next one and get it replaced. I had planned to finish up a tractor today but that will not happen now

This has been the worst morning weatherwise for feeding cattle that I can remember in my lifetime. 45 degrees and thunderstorms to 4 degrees and 30 mile an hour wind in 9 hours. Water under everything, too cold to function. !!!!

Actually it was worse than rrlund says. Chill factors in the -10 to -20's. Winds peaked here at 37mph. Other reports have far exceeded that.

Last night a community about an hour away from me went to -56 Deg.C with the windchill! Where I am was a balmy -44C with the windchill. I'm staying inside. Dave

TVB, it's no longer global warming, it's climate change. David.

Had a high of 44F today, finished putting my 1937 JD B together while the weather was warm. Now temp is dropping and wind blowing like crazy. Going to be 12F by morning with 2-4" of snow and drifting. Just normal Michigan weather!!

9:00 PM in SE IN we're in the low 50's, under a thunderstorm warning, 2 counties west under a tornado warning. 5 Days ago we got down to 3 degrees, tomorrow we're supposed to get back down into the 20's for lows.

Heck of an end to January.

No I haven't, well sort of. I know of one but they want $200 plus for it and right now thats more then I have to spend on it. Trouble is it has to be a pressure plate from a 1953 or 1954 Case SC with live PTO and they seem to be few and far between. My clutch disk is in very good shape its just the throw out bearing carrier that is broke on this one, and it has to be one with a hand clutch

Yeah, Old. Yesterday it was 64° here. This morning at 1:00am it was still 40°. By 6:00 it had dropped to 14° and the NW wind was blowing at 30mph. It got down to 9° with a windchill of -13° before it started to climb all the way up to 18° at 5:00 pm. It's 16 right now (at 7 pm).

We in the temperate climes (where a 15 degree swing over 24 hours is remarkable) always marvel at the perversity of mid-west weather systems. Don't know how you put up with it- guess you just have a lot of combinations of coats, hats, gloves and boots to cope with whatever mother nature throws at you. My paternal grandparents married and moved away from southeastern Missouri (Lebanon) back in the "oughts"- guess I really can't fault them on that decision. Maternal grandmother owned an 800 acre farm near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, and wanted to give it to my mom and dad back in the '50's- Mom turned it down, and I don't know if dad ever forgave her for that. Mom just didn't want to cope with the combination of starvation farming and miserable weather that moving there would have entailed.

Yep. High of 56 here today, now @ 21 heading for 5. 30 mph winds with a wind chill of 3. Calling for -20 wind chill by morning with 2-3 inches snow and wind. Probably won't work tomorrow because of road conditions. I refuse to drive the semi when it gets bad out.

I spent 6 months of my life @ Fort Lost In The Woods, Misery. Also known as Fort Leonard, Mo.
That was back in '73. Basic plus wheeled vehicle maintenance. Then off to Ft. Knox for tracked vehicles.

I did spend Thaksgiving at the Ozarks. I will say it is beautiful country down your way.

Tell ma about it. I was out looking at cows this morning and I think the high was -3 today with 30 mph NW winds. Brrr. I dont really like the lack of snow this winter round here, concerned the moisture pattern will continue into the summer.

That's what I'm figuring - La Nina, we get drought. South has a drought, we get it the next year. We're at the peak of the nineteen year drought cycle.

Was down in that mess in SE MN today. Cant remember the last time I saw 3" to 5" blow that much and make for that poor visibility.
