I have a '74 JD "Sound Guard" cab on a 4000 series and it's pretty nice, and you guessed it, quiet. Have been in some other cabs that were quite primitive. Haven't seen them all.

What's really nice about it is that it was completely restored in '04 so it's like new.

The White series III was pretty hard to beat. Easy in and out, quiet, convienient access to controls, good location of AC vents and speakers.

I'll second the White series 3.

I feel like a king when in our 2-155.

Allis 8000 series were pretty darn good. Beat the heck out of the Sound Guard.

This has my vote. Definately the winner in the "most improved" catagory. When I`d go from the 7000 and banging my head on the heater console to the 8050, it was like going from one extreme to the other...

I liked the Ford Q-Cabs. As far as I'm concerned they were about as good as you could get in those days. The massey cab as mentioned was good too. I never really saw the virtues of the Deere SoundGuard cab myself...
The Fords had 2 big doors that you could get in and out of easily, and any cab that didn't have that doesn't get big marks from me.

Massey Ferguson 2000 series cabs, was the quietest, had the best view, most room, and biggest door. No other company could touch that cab until the JD came out with the 7-8000 series tractors. Trust me I've been in them all. I can't say a lot of great things about the rest of the 2000 series Masseys but you couldn't beat that cab.
