I recently cleaned up years accumulation of scrap batteries, sold 1500 pounds for 40 cents per pound. The scrap man said the price he was getting had dropped a bit, but was still high.

I just sold 8 old ones to my brother for $2 a peice, he brings them to autozone, or some one like that and I think he gets $4 a peice, thats what he says, may be more as he is always secretive of what he gets on anything. He gets cash, not a credit like Batteries Plus.

Dont forget about bullets...Anyway we sell Interstate Batteries, we got a notice in the fall of the new core depsoits. $7.00 for lawn and garden- $18.00 for automotive- $68.00 for group 31 Truck. At one point in time that was the cost of the battery.
