Just dug up this photo of 70 acres of first year WL 357 HQ Alfalfa. Wish it was summer here, thought I would share this with everyone.

That"s nice to see, wish it were that time of year! There is nothing I enjoy more than the smell of alfalfa and sitting on my H mowing it... it"s funny I"d rather run the old tractor than the new one with cab, air, and radio.

Thanks for sharing the picture, gives me something to look forward to this summer!

That looks like a great stand. How did it do for the year? As good as the picture looks?

That is some nice looking ground in that area. Been through there a few times.

Seeded September 06 First cutting frosted off during Easter freeze 12 to 15 inches tall
Second cutting June 07 1.5 5x6 big rounds per acre
Third cutting July 07 35 small squares (60 lb.) per acre
Forth cutting September 07 25 small squares per acre
Late fall, November 07 23 small squares per acre
Very little rain between May 15 and August 15, less than one inch total in that period. I don't know how it did it, the photo was in late June. It looked that good this fall before killing frost.

(Sigh) It's nice to see something green again. Kind of like looking at an oasis. We've been lookin at white fields for six weeks now and it doesn't look like the end is anywhere in sight.

Thanks for the pic. Jim
