I think my post got lost too. Whoever painted the tractor. painted over the engine plate holding the serial number and the plate under the steering wheel rusted out and was also painted. I'll see if I can remove the engine plate to find the numbers. Thanks for all the info.

I was told that 30s have the air cleaner intake on the dash, and 20s have it else where.

Look for a large casting mark close to the starter. Z120=TO-20 z129=TO-30 No need to scrape paint/rust. Should be casted in 1/2 to 3/4 inch print.

Aaron;

We determined it"s a T) 30. We were trying to find the serial # for the production year. Thanks for the input.

If it is still there, there is a code on the right hand side of the tractor where your heel rubs the tranny case. Should read 12 9 8 or something similar. This one in particular means 12 Sept 1958 or 9 Dec 1958, not sure. It is right under the casting number. This is the casting date. Tractor should be about 6 months newer than that date. (I think this code was used on the TO's...)

I looked, but didn't see any numbers. Lots of numbers on everything else, but nothing there. Thanks.
