For the last two days I have felt like crap, can't eat hardley anything. I walked to my barn, stayed a short time, and walked back home. The grand kids were here with something a few days ago. I guess I got it from them. If I don't get out of the house soon, the wife will throw me out. I am forcing my self to stay up late so maybe I can get some sleeep tonight. Stan

Guys,
Just go your good "old Pet store" (not a chain store) and get a bottle of "Aqua-Tet" Antibiotic capsules mfrd by ASC (Animal Supply Center, Fresno, CA). They sell for $13.95 a bottle of 100 capsules around here. They are for Fish diseases caused by bacteria. These capsules are 200 mg and Tetracycline. I have been taking them for years and they work.
You take 2 capsules each morning , Noon and night and in 2 days you won"t be sick. I haven"t been sick in months and if anything comes on, I get my capsules and get rid of it immediately.
These capsules DO NOT work on Females!! Only males!

Sick as a dawg for a month. Nurse told me take ginger and garlic. Healthy for a week. Then grandson came over with all his school germs. Right back where I started day before yesterday. Think I need new immune system, did Farmall make those?

No nausia, but the wife and I have both had a head and chest cold for 10 days or so that just won't let go. We both feel OK when we're outside in the fresh air,but get in here and set down,or especially try to sleep and the coughing jag sets in.

For all you guys with a colds that have gone to chest or in your sinuses, grate up two onions, mix a little flour into to it to make a thick mix and then put it all into a sock and hang around your neck for the day. This really helped me get rid of bad infection i had when i was young. Stinks but works.

Re: OT How did you choose your career? in reply to bkpigs, 01-07-2011 11:59:03
I grew up on a farm and after high school I worked in a neighboring apple orchard for two years. It was fun in the summer but crawling up in a tree in the winter when it was 10 degrees out changed my mind. I quit and went to vocational school for auto mechanics and found a job at a small shop. That turned out to be a dirty, pressure to get jobs out without any help awakening. The local large factory had some job openings. I put in an application and about a week later I called them back and they told me to come over. I started in the punch press dept which was hard work and monotonous. I worked the night shifts and went back to school in Industrial electronics. After completing two years of school with very little sleep the company was just starting maintenance apprenticeship programs. I got into the Mechanical program and after 5 years of that I applied for the Electrical maintenance. That is where I ended up and am now retired after 39 years at that company. I didn't have any real plan but just kept trying to improve whatever I could. I have some tractors and implements that I play with and that is what draws me to this and the Tool Talk site.

I got mine last week. It started out as a sore throat and a little cough, and escalated into stuffy nose, tons o' snot, and more coughing, with the sore throat still hanging on. I'm almost all better now, 'cept for a little stuffiness and runniness. It takes a alot to knock me down, but I ended up taking a day and half off work. Buy some oranges and eat em.

My wife's had a brochial infection this week. I don't have anything I can put my finger on, but the last couple of days while working in my shop about 2:00 pm I've felt like I hit a wall.

If I sit in a lounge chair for twenty minutes and drink a cup of coffee, I feel good enough to go back to work.

I felt good yesterday morning. Went out working on a tool box for my tractor. Was there maybe 30 minutes and it was as if a big truck hit me... I went to the house and told wife I just feel like you know what. Watch some TV and drank a 7 up. Soon went to bed and slept. Did nothing else rest of the day.

Here's hoping you get well soon. I think bob's right about the clean envinronment we live in.

My mom always kept the house squeaky clean and super sanitary, but it seemed like we had the hard flu more than our share of times. I think we were just too clean.

Then I graduated from school and married a teacher. My wife works with little kids the year round, so I'm constantly being inoculated with all these little flu bugs and viruses that she drags home to me. As a result, I'm rarely sick. If a bug does hit, I feel a little punk for a few days and that's about it. So go out and eat a little dirt. You'll be healthier in the long run. Jim

yep, its a respiratory flu. GET TO THE DOCTOR AND GET A SHOT. OTC medicine wont help this one. GO SSEE A DOCTOR. People in our area wait to long and end up in hospital for 3 days to a week!
Oh yea, also let your kids eat dirt, we are kkeeping our enviroment to cleann for them and they have no immune sssystem is what i'm thinking.

"GET TO THE DOCTOR AND GET A SHOT" Thats part of whats wrong with the medical system in this country. Everyone goes running to a doctor for every little sniffel. If its a virus there is no shot that a doctor can give that will help. Thats why so many antibiotics are not working any more. For the cold and flu the best thing is plenty of fluids and rest. If in a few days it keeps getting worse then it may be time to get medical care.
