Fertilizer prices in south central Missouri are running in the $550 a ton range. Last year they were $400. Have prices gone up this much in your area?

You will not see price drop until fuel prices go down. But they claim by the end of the year we will be paying $5/gal for gas...so Fertilizer Prices will keep going up with fuel prices. Fuel prices are going up because the dollar keeps looseing value. When a dollar is not worth much you have to pay more of them to make up the difference. Conpare the price of gold to fuel prices... They are equal to what they were 10 years ago!!!!!

They planted wheat.Inputs are lower. All stated they did good last year and are planning the same this year.

A Kansas State University agricultural economist recently stated in a farm publication, "Farmers need fertilizer, and crop prices are good: therefore, fertilizer companies will keep raising prices until farmers won't buy any longer. Anhyrous ammonia is high because it can be. The same goes for machinery."

You can buy Anhydrous here at Southern States for $650, that price is good till Tuesday. Going to be a rough spring. Hope the fall makes up for it.

I read somewhere that 80% of the cost of growing crops comes from the herbacides, pestacides, fertilizers, and fuel required to grow the crop. 100% of the 80% comes from petroleum products, aka oil.

How can this be true?
