A young lady I work with lived in a two year old basement home in Strafford MO and they had a safe room in the basement. Just as they where closeing the door the entire home just flew away. Two small kids and her and her husband are fine but lost everything. When she called in this AM she said she just had her night gown and slippers for cloths. They lost their dog and some cows also. We had 80 to 100 mile winds around 2AM at my place and hale a little smaller than a basball for a short time. I think we came out OK at compared to some others.

Yep the weather was real bad last night. I stayed up till 1AM and from about 5PM till then the weather stayed on and the screen looked like a chrismas tree with all the colors telling of T-storms, tornado's flood watches etc. Republic lost a school roof and many homes are gone do around Sprignfield/Srafford area. From waht the weather man was saying there was a line of Tornado's from the OK/MO line all the way up to Rolla MO along I-44. I know I'm doing ok but theres a good number of people picking up the pieces this morning and will be for days

I am more in central Missouri, and it was a pretty scary night. There was a home and barn destroyed about 25 miles from us, but luckily we didn't have anything but high winds and a ton of rain. We went to the basement last two different times. This kind of thing never used to scare me much when it was just the wife and I, but now that we have a seven month old son, I find myself being much more uneasy about this kind of stuff. Hope everyone else faired ok.

Hanging on!! Got a lot of wind and over "3"honest inches of rain over night. Am just 15 miles north of Springfield and they suffered a lot of damage in the area. One of the large plumbing supply houses is scattered all over the place. lost part of a school in a neiboring town. lots of homes damaged or gone. somewhere near a rancher found his "25" cows killed from being tossed around and the barn was flattened and all the hay is scattered all over. Mother nature fed the cows but killed them before they could eat!

Doing OK here. 7 schools in SW MO are closed today due to the storms. The first tornado went within 1/2 mile of the farm. Metal roofing pieces hung in the barbed wire fences. A neighbor had a protable corral set up to seperate the spring calves. The tornado moved a trailer full of corral panels 100 feet or so and parked it in the road ditch. A small mobile home park about a mile away was flattened. The gas station across the road was damaged but still standing. Power lines down.

One fatality, Eleven taken to area hospitals when I went to bed at midnite. News this morning says there were 63 tornado warnings issued over a 15 hour period in Southwest MO. It was a wild night. I"m getting to old for this..... .
