Have these pictures, would really like to know what it says on the casting. All we can make out so far is "BAY"

I think someone good at Photoshop could change the colors, saturation, contrast, etc. and be able to read the rest... Or maybe someone can just read this?

This relates to the topic <a href="http://ytforums.ytmag.com/viewtopic.php?t=251027">"Creeper Gear Offset Farmalls"</a> on the Farmall board.

Thanks for any help!

I found a Jennings Equipment Inc. in Puyallup that says they bought out Ray Bock Equipment.

Hugh, you stated in another post that there are three different types of gear boxes... this is the only one I've seen. If you have pics of the other two and could email them to me, I'd appreciate it!

What did you find out from K-MO? Will he be able to take more pictures?

Steven: The other two creeper gear boxes are in one of the photo galleries. I did't give them a lot of attention as they both fit in the torque tube, and not only reduce speeds in all 4 gears plus reverse, they also reduce PTO speed to somewhere between 300 and 400 RPM. For that reason I didn't record or ask anything about them. If your searching the galleries they were both installed in Super As.

I've asked Bruce Elliot if he can find me a bit more about the working gears and drive line of the Ray Bock gear box. My understanding of this back 4 years ago, was power was transmitted from upper shaft to new position PTO shaft, which is 540 RPM, and from there back to tractor drive line. As I see it, a clutch between the PTO and tractor drive line would in effect give Live PTO while in Creeper Drive. Therein lies my interest, I like any unit that gives 540 PTO and if happens to be live PTO so much the better.

Why not get a map of Maryland and look at all the towns that begin with 'P' ?

If you find a matching town, contact the Town Clerk in the Town Hall. Give them 'Bay' and see what they come up with.

If that doesn't work, locate a nearby farm equipment dealer that has been in business for awhile. Talk to the oldest guy in the shop.

You might try contacting the International Association of Machinists in Upper Marlboro, MD 301-967-4500 for possible company name matches.

Dad's always bugging me to read something really worn. But here I used HP Photosmart, it came with my computer. Using its "adaptive lighting" feature I come up with this:

third party image

It looks like BAY BOOX EQU PMY ALT US MD

Not that any of that makes sense, but I tried. That shadow bar really messed with me. Could easily be "book" or "bock" too.

BAY BOCK EQU

but that's the best I can come up with.

I get the words "bay" "bock" "laundry" and possibly something on the second line like "putam" and "md" (for Maryland?). Middle word starts with a "u" or "ur". I googled "bay bock laundry", and found there was a company called Bock Laundry Mach. Co

This is just a guess!

BAY BO_X(or K) ROUM_ _

P_ALI UR_O_

The underscores are letters I can't make out at all.

If you can email me the full file, as much of it as you have, I can try, me email is open. I'm running both Photoshop 5.5 and 9.0. Might be something I can get. No promises but I will try. I've got a photoshoot tonight so if I get them before 5 or so EST I'll try to process today, otherwise it will be tomorrow.

Thanks for trying... the original image is 640x480 and only 68kb.

This creeper gear would be popular with many people who have the offset Farmalls if it could be put back into a limited production...
