Got these about 3 weeks ago and haven't fallen on the ice since.

Hit the ground hard twice before I bought them.

They work great.

Try this on boot. in reply to IaGary, 01-01-2008 12:36:42
I had trouble last year and was shown a better and cheaper way of grip to the boots. You take a 3/8 screw with the hex head. Screw into bottom of boot several places. ... trust me.. no joke here. Works like a champ!...My other friends have done this since seeing my boots. They are very happy and don't slip or fall no more. Cost about 1.00 for pair of boots. They don't come out either. Mine are still going from last year.

Yeah but I wear these boots on concret in the shop also.

Them screw heads like to slide on smooth concret and so do these Yak Tracks,so when I get to the shop the chains come off. They are easier to put on and off than a pair of socks.

I don't have any but I think I need some. I have fallen down two times this week very hard. Last night I did it. Same spot, right in front of my pole barn entrance door on the cement. It is on the side of the barn and snow and ice drip off the eve and gutters and land on the cement as water but turn to ice as the day gets colder. Last night I was carrying two jugs of antifreeze and went straight out and straight down like a sack of flour. Happened so fast I had no warning. I was lucky to have escaped that one. My leg is really sore though today. Was not a pretty sight.

I have used those type since 1971. The type you have do very good, I have also uded the ones that have spikes that work far better for traction. The spiked are terrible for getting sore feet, just like standing on a ladder all day, and when you wear coveralls that are baggy around your anckles, you can step on your coveralls, and down you go. foot chains are well worth the money compared to hospital bills.

That was my gift to my girlfriend for christmas. She said she was a materialistic snob and kept nagging for jewelry. But she fell on ice a week before.

I got 50 bucks says they're still in the box next time I go see her. Who's feeling lucky??

I've never seen such a thing, but I've sure thought about the concept. Where did you get them? Cost?

Thanks,
Glenn F.

I DO! They're called Yak-Tracks, and they are FANTASTIC! You can run on ice with those on. They don't work well indoors though, and they'll scratch the floor.

And on a tile floor you can fall on your a$$ like you are on ice. Don't ask how I know.

I asked around at all the usual department stores and they all said they were out of stock. I found the ones I gifted at a store called Brown Shoe, for about $20 in the size my gf needs. Bigger sizes were $25.

My son just got a pair last week. First time I'd ever seen them so I tried them out and like you say, they work good. My wife got a pair of the peg ones at Sportsmans Warehouse in Ankeny, Ia. and she really likes those, too.

Sporting goods stores sell them. They are called Yak Tracks.

They were designed for ice fishing.

They slip on and off in seconds with the rubber bands stretching to hold them on.
