its almost impossible to tell what a particular tractor will bring at auction particularly a jd, they can be had for give away prices, or if 2 people really want it or somebody thinks a model is a little rare, they can go for mind boggling prices, but like mentioned befor the old tractor hobby is not about making money its the fun, and for older folks like me, the memories, of days past, and you seem to meet the nicest folks at tractor shows, also younger folks can get interested in old tractors and machinery if dad or grandpa makes it a family project

Read this six times, that's a six pack. I'm thinking that by the time I get a case of beer gone, I'm going to understand it. Only problem is, by the time I get that case gone so I can understand it, I won't be able to read it so, guess I'll just drink the beer and forget about it.

No chit Man!!! I never smoked anything that good!! As for the original post, i will never get my money back on these tractors. They are toys, a hobby. I think one reason the basket cases go as high as they do, is because people like me want to restore a basket case. Everything doesn't have to make sense or money.
