I have a friend who has a John Deer 1949 or 50 he said. Is a model A and runs real good. Has some damage to the grill in front and needs paint. Has a front loader that is 6' wide on bucket. He is thinking about saleing it. But has no idea what it might be worth. Any one give some idea on it. It is in Missouri here. Thanks

Hummm interesting. on the prices in reply to Larry59, 12-28-2007 21:39:49
Thanks for comments. Either him nor I had any thoughts on the prices. He has had his John Deer several years now. The front 6' bucket wide loader did not seem to matter? I would have thought it would be a good saleing factor.

WOW! I think it might be time to load up the A's and head to Florida. Here in WI a realistic price would be in the neighborhood of $2000.

I had to pay 2850$ for a rusty crusty B with a sump half full of water.. and it was the cheapest candidate I could find.

I think the B's are a little more desireable, since they are smaller. Around here, it seems that collectors have moved on to the numbered series or the new generation tractors. At auctions the tractors from the 60's and 70's get the most collector interest. I think now the 80's tractors are moving into the collector status.

Anything old and JD around here might as well be made of gold..
