I"ve counted the turns on my International Magneto and counted 9371, The Mag is off my 10-20 McCormick Deering. Does anyone know if I am close to the right number of turns??? should it be 9000, 9500, 10000??? I would get it wound to 9500, but I would like to know if I"m close. Any help would be appriciated, Thanks! - Tyler

IMHO, the insulation on modern magnet wire is thinner than the stuff from the old days, allowing more turns in the same space.

I DOUBT there'd be a great deal of difference in the spark, give or take 500 turns.

Why not give it a try @ say, 9500 turns, recharge the magnets, slap it together, and see how much spark you have!
