Westendorf Loader Opinions?

I am looking to put a new loader on my 6070 Allis Chalmers tractor. It has a nice heated cab, and I'm tired of freezing on my open station 170 AC while feeding cows and doing chores. I plan on moving the bales on the 3pt fork and having a bucket on the loader for moving snow. I really liked the looks of the WL-21 model, but I don't know anyone who has used one of these loaders, and I want to buy a good one when I buy.
Thanks for any advice.

If you ever need to lift high such as to put round bales in a tub grinder a 21 won"t work. The WL40 will do it, but if you ever have to buy new cylinders hang on to your billfold. They make the bucket cylinders a 19 inch stroke so you have to buy them from westendorf, and they cost twice as much as a 20 inch from anybody else. A friend of mine bought a new WL42 and before the warranty was up three of the cylinders were leaking and they did their best to weasel out of covering it. I"ve had good luck with my 40 except for the cylinders and westendorf has a good quicktach for the bucket, although there are others like Surlock that lock on to the pins on the bucket instead of having to put a bracket on the bucket. I have a WL21 it must be 8 years now. Put it on a D19 Allis, use it to fix waterway's, load dirt, manure, snow, and grub out small trees and concrete.

The loader is still square has a good cutting edge, and can lift the rear wheels (loaded) off the ground. The hydraulic's on the 19 are a little slow but have a lot of power. The ease of off and on are terrific. I would get another in a minute.

Its a good size loader for a 60 70Hp tractor.Have mine on a 706 IH right now and have had it for 15 years or more.Have been pretty ruff with it have welded on it a few times and replaced one cylinder and a few seals on the bucket cylinders.Finding the right mounts for the AC could be tuff, but the company can still make them yet.Their just up the road from me 20 miles.

we have a 29, I think, on our JD 4230 and it works great. Plenty of reach and power to lift round bales. With the pallet forks we also easily lift bunks of feed and salt. I also much prefer the quick change over from bucket to spear vs. the John Deere

595 buhler-allied for that tractor is a much better loader and priced considerably less new. these are excellent loaders that are easy on/off and the brackets are easy to install.

The only loaders I see anywhere around here are the WL-42 loaders. These are heavy loaders. People do everything from moving bails to pushing snow to bulldozing trees to breaking up concrete floors with them. Seems darn near impossible to hurt it.

My only gripe about the wl-42 is that it is HEAVY! If you have it hanging on the front of a 1086 you move the center of gravity so far forward that you don't have much weight on the back tires for traction - critical when pulling a loaded 500bu wagon, especially in wet weather. And I worry about those front wheel bearings, had to replace them several times.

My cousin has a 684 International with a wl 21 loader on it and a 884 with a 2250 International loader on it. He likes the 21 a lot more than the 2250. They are a well built, tough little loader. He hauls 1,000# round bales with a spear attachment on it instead of a bucket and it handles it very well. I"ve had a wl 40 and it was too big and bulky for my taste. I now have a ta 26 Westendorf and like it a lot. They make a good tough loader.

A neighbor has a WL-21 on a 190XT and has had good luck with it. Seems to be a good match to the tractor. It's pretty hard to go wrong with a Westendorf. Jim
