So we got the little Case 485 stuck well we always have the IH 1066 but it hasn't run since last season.

Victor and I try jumping it with as many batteries as we have jumpers for to no avail she just won't crank fast enough or long enough to start.

So I pull the starter take it home and tear it down (I always say do it right the first time to save time and money). The commutator is black, I mean black burnt and copper melted . Can I clean it up without turning it. I get my Emory cloth out and a file to hit the high spots and go to work, it comes out looking pretty good so Victor puts it back in the next morning an it fires right up. Good for now.
They hook on to the little case and pull it free. Wait something else goes wrong the IH 1066 is buried up to is a$$ hole in mud and won't move. Now I have to take Ol' faithful (Case LA) out to the farm and try to pull it out.
As I said things were not going that good until we loaded that truck with 800 trees in 3 hours a record for us.
Walt PS now how do I get rid of that darn crotch itch BUMMER.

You are lucky to have trees to load. Here in Calif during the last fire a large Christmas tree farm had almost all their trees burn up. Stan

Reminds me of when I was in high school. I worked for one of the neighbors for a couple of summers because my dad had things under control.

We had some heavy rains and some land got flooded. (The neighbor's). Before the flood, I'd been plowing with a pull type plow on some of the land that got flooded. While we were waiting for things to dry out, I was out with a 44 Massey fixing fence one day, and on the way back I hooked onto the plow to pull it home. The plow was on rubber and rolled right off.

I then went back and hooked onto a drag harrow. The harrow was stuck in the mud, both back wheels on the Massey took about a turn and the Massey was down to its belly in the mud. The boss came out with a WD, but he was afraid to get too close for fear of burying the WD. We wound up getting the two biggest wreckers in the county, used one for an anchor and the other one hooked to it to winch the Massey out.

Well will try to be diplomatic.Iwould taKE long hot shower an with soft brush brush all crud off you can-brush hard as you can stand it .Than throughly dry an spray cruex on -my preference due to it being dry shortly after put on.Others mentioned probably will work also. You might jump when you sprayas it burns a few seconds. Dryness an not having affected areas touch each other are important an so if you roll two sheats of bounty paper in roll shape an use one on eighter side (2ROLLS)of efected areas keeping affected areas seperated best you can while you sleep it will help .dRY AN SEPERATED IS KEY!!!!
