I am gonna post this everywhere I can find til you guys get sick of hearing it.

I have a idea to build a IH milking equipment display at Red Power Roundup, Columbia MO June 11- 14, 2008. Need life-size Plastic or fiberglass cows. I could use a trailer load but even one or two would help. Used to see them at fair displays. Any ideas? howster@nebnet.net

What about plywood cut outs? My Uncle Donald is a retired dairy farmer from So. MN. He now volunteers at FarmAmerica, the ag interpretive center, Waseca, MN. That is what they use there for their demonstrations. Someone else mentioned the state or national Holstein assocation.

There is a firm in western Wisconsin (town is Sparta) that makes life-sized cows. They have supplied Chicago and other big cities with cows for civic demos. They make all kinds of critters. If interested, I can get their phone number for you.

A Tale
Our Daughter was serving as a counselor at our Church camp. They took a group of youngsters for a two-day outing. It began with a long hike to the top of the mountain to an old fire-tower site, where they would camp. Our Daughter was among the first to arrive, they found a cow, hanging from a tree! They worked Quickly to cut it down, before the others arrived. They called back to the Camp office to report what they found, and asked what to do. The Camp called local Law Enforcement, and Camp sent a truck to haul the cow. Then I learned it was a PLASTIC cow. Well, they set it up at the main Camp, inside a board fence. and used it as a mascot. She showed up at campfires, in skits and all manner of places. She was decked out in various outfits. Lots of fun that summer with Bessie. Then the Police came to hold their Cadet Camp. One of them saw Bessie and remembered a report of a stolen cow. The file was found, and the Dairy came and got their cow. She had been stolen several times over the years.

There is a company in or around Plainview, TX that has them. I see them all over around there, most likely it is the same company that has the horses in Santa Fe, NM. I will ask around and see if I can find out who it is that has them.

You talking about Moo Cows? Theres a "Cows on Parade" site but I think those cows would be to expensive. I saw them when I was in Kansas a few years ago.

Independence Oregon has them all over the place on the sidewalks just come in to town one night and take a couple most citizen would probably help you to get them out the way while walking from store to store.

Now, Howard, I think it would be more realistic and more interesting if you were to go out in the pasture, coral up a few and take the real thing to set up. But you probably don't have any dairy cattle. LOL
